Website & Navigation Tip

I have now posted over 100 story vignette writings on my website. Many of my vignette writings exceed the common “less than 1,000 word count” typically presented in this writing style. My vignette writings have been evolving over time and I am proud of this evolution. I have now recognized that there are many potential publishing projects developing in this website, both in the fiction and non-fiction genres.

To easily navigate my website, select Current Vignette Writings in the Menu Bar to be directed to the current list of my vignette writings. The writings of my memories appear in the Parts and Eras from when they occurred. The writings are in chronological order. Select the Vignette Writing Title link in the Era that captures your interests to learn more about this part of my story.

  • Next Phase Begins…

While on vacation I began to miss my workouts at the gym. I felt like I was losing the gains that I had worked so hard to achieve. Going to the gym was now very much a part of my day, and my life. Plus, while enjoying my relaxing in the Bahamas, I realized that…

  • Bahamas Vacation 2024 – Part SEVEN…

Travel Day – The girls were excited to be heading back to Virginia. And I felt that once we returned there would be a change to the family setting. I knew this feeling because I had felt it before. And again, this feeling would reinforce a need for my new beginnings. We had a late…

South Florida – I have many memories of my multiple times living in South Florida. Some from my younger years and some from my adult years spanning multiple decades. • Bahamas Vacation 2024 – Part FIVE…

Return Crossing – The return crossing is the opposite of the crossing to get to the Bahamas. Aso, the return crossing does not require stopping at the Bahamas customs office in West End, Grand Bahama. The journey from our island home to South Florida will be a non-stop trip. And the time it can take…

  • Bahamas Vacation 2024 – Part FOUR…

The Boat – We have been bringing the Grandparent’s boat over to the island for several years now. And I will note that vacationing in the islands with your own boat has many advantages. Before bringing the Grandparent’s boat over to the island for vacation, Granddad would arrange to rent or borrow a boat so…

  • Bahamas Vacation 2024 – Part THREE…

The Island – Green Turtle Cay is only about one mile wide at its widest point and about three miles long. It sets directly on the Atlantic Ocean so in the morning we look directly eastward. At night, we can see so many stars, and sometimes it is so clear that we can see star…

  • Bahamas Vacation 2024 – Part TWO…

The Crossing – Our island trip consists of several days of traveling adventures before we can relax in the islands, those being our travel day to South Florida and crossing day to the Bahamas which is day one of our vacation. And when vacation is over, we then make the journey back from the Bahamas…

  • Bahamas Vacation 2024 – Part ONE…

Travel Day – Every summer our family heads south for vacation in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and then over to the Abaco Islands in the Bahamas. Our daughter’s Grandparents have a beach house on Green Turtle Cay, Abaco. My wife and I designed the house in 2007 for them, and we were married on the island…

I am pretty sure that everyone who is reading this piece has a collection of pictures in albums, boxes, or maybe in a picture catalog they have made that reflects many of your memories throughout life. And most of these memories are of good times, family events, maybe even some challenging times. Rarely do any…

  • Six Weeks In…

Wow! Hard to believe, but I have completed six weeks of some good workouts at the gym. I feel like I have made some good progress based on how I have been tracking which machines I have increased the weights on. I will share my boring stats with you with the understanding that you promise…
