My Story Begins

Website & Navigation Tip

I have now posted over 100 story vignette writings on my website. Many of my vignette writings exceed the common “less than 1,000 word count” typically presented in this writing style. My vignette writings have been evolving over time and I am proud of this evolution. I have now recognized that there are many potential publishing projects developing in this website, both in the fiction and non-fiction genres.

To easily navigate my website, select Current Vignette Writings in the Menu Bar to be directed to the current list of my vignette writings. The writings of my memories appear in the Parts and Eras from when they occurred. The writings are in chronological order. Select the Vignette Writing Title link in the Era that captures your interests to learn more about this part of my story.

  • High School…

Over the summer I could only imagine what high school would be like. My boss, who was a recent high school graduate, told me many incredible stories about his high school days and experiences. And for my birthday this year my mom bought me a whole collection of clothes that were in the current style.…

  • Old Mine…

Just before the start of high school, the assistant manager, my boss, invited me to go with him and his friend on an adventure in the mountains outside of Las Vegas. To be invited to hang out with two 18-year-old boys when you are getting ready to turn 15, I felt, would be an incredible…

  • Root Beer…

In 1970 Las Vegas you could get a work permit at age 14. I desperately wanted to get a real job this summer so my mom said that she would help me get a work permit. She also told me that I need to get a social security number. And with a real job, I…

  • Next Phase Begins…

While on vacation I began to miss my workouts at the gym. I felt like I was losing the gains that I had worked so hard to achieve. Going to the gym was now very much a part of my day, and my life. Plus, while enjoying my relaxing in the Bahamas, I realized that…

  • Another Running…

Did you think I was running away from home again? Nope, this is a completely different running I am happy to write about. In early spring I tried out for my junior high school track team and was selected to be one of the long-distance runners for my grade level. I was so surprised to…

Introduction…

I chose a blog platform to share my story of recovery and change over a prolonged period of time since my story cannot be captured in a simple writing as it is still evolving. As my story continues to evolve, I plan to reveal my story in vignettes from past memories and from recent activities. Using this format, what I am looking to do first is to share this life changing event that could have ended my time here in this world along with my recovery and new discoveries about myself. I will then insert the setting of new life goals and interlace past memories that might help in your understanding of where I have come from, and where my rebuilding and new discoveries may take me.

So, this is the first time I am sharing my story of recovery and new beginnings after experiencing a life changing event. While I am not sure this story will be of interest to anyone, I feel that sharing my story might help to encourage others to know that how you respond to life changing events will help you with your vision of where your future can go. Please join me in my journey of recovery, change and new beginnings.
