When I started my personal story blog website, my writing was a therapeutic exercise to reconcile with everything going on in my world at that time. After surviving a Widow Maker Heart Attack that for most people is fatal, and as part of my overall recovery, I sought out therapeutic support to help me resolve my emotional distress of this event. I also sought therapeutic support to help me with how my family had emerged from the pandemic and was basically dissolving in front of me.
After many therapy sessions I discovered so much about myself and my life that I decided to share these discoveries in writing about my life, the experience of having a life-changing major medical event, and where my future might be headed in hopes of helping others. My therapist thought this would be most helpful with strengthening my mind and for my emotional wellbeing for my new journey, my new beginnings. And it could possibly help others with similar stories reconcile their life changes and their New Beginnings.
Also, during this period of writing I began to go back into my past to explore what has made me stronger in life and what has challenged me. With this journey back into my past, some of my writing is rooted deep in my childhood and teenage years memories. While I do have a very good recollection of my experiences and the associated details, there might be some small details not included that I could have put into my story, especially when some of my memories are dealing with actions by others that have profoundly impacted me. These are my dark memories. Maybe in my Memoir I will include them.
Now that I have evolved my writings further than my original concept for my personal story blog, my writings now form the basis of the first draft writings of my first Memoir, “Inspired Heart New Beginnings”. By reading my writings you can follow my writing journey to develop a full manuscript that I do hope to get published. I have engaged with a writing coach to help me navigate this journey. You can participate as well. You can share a thought or two that could influence some parts of my writing. Maybe even make it into the final manuscript.
So now my personal story blog will give insight into how my Memoir is being developed for you the reader. It is not common to have an opportunity to see a Memoir in its earliest developmental stage. I hope you will join me as I continue to recover and evolve, and to write this Memoir to share with the world.
